As you all may know, percussion ensemble practice has resumed. I need to strongly emphasize on the responsibility of informing me if you are not attending the practices. If you are not coming, please kindly inform through sms or msn or email. At least we can expect who are the member comning for practices. For the practices, those year 1 with percussion background will have to attend both the Year 1 schedule practices and NYPPE Main schedule practices. Those year 1s with no percussion background will only have to attend the Year 1s schedule practice.

-The SoundCard and StageArts are performing also in this event.

-We will depart from NYP Carpark Block E at 4pm to Tampines East Festival Park, next to Blk 257, Tampines Street 21

-Advise to have dinner first prior to performances. The NYAA council will reimburse $6 for each dinner cost

-Event will start at 730pm

-You can invite anyone to watch this performance. It is open to the public.

Since this weeks' and next week's tuesdays and thursdays are taken up for the year 1 band practices, for now, combined ensemble practices will be on friday, 6-9pm and saturday, 12-3pm. The time and venue for the 6th June performance have not ben confirmed yet because Mr Han is overseas. Once he's back, I will inform everyone the time and venue.

Hey, NYPPE. There will be ensemble practice this Saturday, frm 12 to 3pm as per usual. And please do not forget about this coming Sunday's MUSART Percussion Concert at Jurong Green CC. It starts at 5pm. We will meet first and then go together. Those of you who cannot go, please inform Dennis personally.

I'm sure you all gt Jolyn's email regarding a percussion outing. Please give your ideas on what we should do. Preferably something that does not involved a lot of money. Hey, everyone. It's been a long time since we saw everybody in a normal percussion practice. Anyway, practice resumes this Tuesday onwards, 9 Dec 2008 and this Saturday, 13 Dec 2008. Timing as usual. After this whole week onwards, there might be a possibility that all the Saturday practices will be shifted on Fridays, 6 to 9pm, depending on Dennis's work schedule.

The post concert dinner would be on this Tuesday, 730pm outside band room. Help me spread the message to the year 3s, year 2s and year 1s. Basically, just spread the damn message araound.

Anyways, those who are performing on this coming Wednesday for the NYP Campus Road Run, we will practice our Lids, Bailando and Mo Java first at 6pm. Then we go and eat. So better be early, or we'll eat into our eating time. Get it? Eat into our Eating Time? lol.

Anyways, those who need excuse letter for that day, please inform me by tmr by sms or call me. As you know, i will not be going for the main band oreadi, so you have to tell me either by sms or calling me.

On the actual day of performance, we will report at the band room at 4pm as we will need to standby at the performance area at 540pm. Attire will be confirmed again later.

Sadly, our post concert dinner is yet postpone to another day, next Tuesday, 18 November 2008. Don't ask any questions why. Cause i don't care. Anyways, on a lighter note, good job to all the year 1s, (including Sze Hou, who is NOT a year 1.haha) for todays splendid performance, especially Lids. Great energy. Great presentation. And not forgetting, great smiles.! Keep it up.

Anyways, this friday, those who are performing on the 22 and 23 November, you guys are to report to the band room at 6pm this coming friday, 14 November because the NEA people are coming to view our Lids and welcoming samba item. Hey percussion ensemble. Post concert dinner is now confirm on the 14 of Nov, which is this coming friday. Hope everyone can turn up. All new members are also invited. Venue is yet to be confirmed but its most probably at the rooms at Block E 3rd level. Dennis is ordering KFC and Pizza Hut.

Another thing, 15 Nov, Saturday, Dennis wants the whole percussion ensemble to be on standby because we maybe have to perform for some ministers again. We are only going to play lids. He said that nowadays, we have connections with government associations and clubs and so, we should be proud of ourselves.

Last note, i'm very happy with all of us who have always been performing and i know that we are all super tired, hell, i'm dying over here with all the matters to take care. I truly appreciated those who are always attending practices and performing and not even complaining about it. Keep on this spirit.!! (what a lame ending sentence la)

Update On The Ensemble

Practices will now be on every Tuesday, 6 to 9pm and Saturday. For timing on Saturdays, I'm not really sure. It should either be from 9 to 12 or from 12 to 3pm. For this Saturday's practice, it is from 9 to 12pm. Those coming, please bring $1 for our first-time ever, NYPPE fund. Please pass the money to our money queen, i mean, our new treasurer which is Kit Ying.

The NYPPE fund is collected every month at $1. So everyone in the NYPPE is expected to contribute $1. Please pay when is expected and do not let me and Kit Ying have to chase after you for this $1. (Pathetic, have to chase for a dollar!!) And our post concert dinner would be on the 30 Sep Tuesday, during our ensemble practices. Please suggest some food that you guys wanna eat then on the tagboard.

And as Dennis said, it is your responsibility and duty to always go on to the blog for further information on the activities and update. So if you are unaware of anything going on, ask around. If anything goes wrong, don't blame others. BLAME YOURSELF! (Lol, i sound like my mother)

I need to know who can perform for this event. I'm nt sure if what pieces we are going to play but i think its the same old stuff that we have been playing.

This wednesday's lunchtime performance at the atrium is cancelled due to the lack of main players for that performance. But the performance is on 6th august at the TFA is still on. The practices for that performance will be on the 17 and 18 of July at 6pm. Pls remember to have your dinner first.

Updated Information On Suntec Performance

The venue of the performance will no longer be at the Fountain Of Wealth. It is changed to the Galleria Dome pictured below.

Here's the schedule on that day.

1pm - Report to the band room

2pm - Start moving instruments

3pm - Shifting of instruments should be finished and lorry departed
- Depart for Suntec City

3.30pm - Reach Suntec City and instruments set up

5.30pm - Set up,rehearsals and soundcheck should be done.

6.30pm - Performance Time!

7.15pm - Manu will pick up instruments and we depart for NYP

Details For Suntec City Performance. (IMPORTANT)

The Suntec City Performance is on the 25th of June, Wednesday.

Reporting Time: 2pm sharp
(We are reporting early as we need to help move the instruments to the lorry so that Manu can move them to Suntec City. Those who cannot meet at exactly 2pm must inform me the reason why personally. If not, everyone must be there.)
Reporting Venue: Band Room

Attire: Black top and dark coloured jeans.

We will depart from NYP at 4.30pm. We will put all our stuff and belongings in the band room. We will reach Suntec around 5pm. Our performance will be at The Galleria Fountain (the small one) and it starts at either 7.15pm or 7.30pm. Everything should end around 8. Pls remember to bring all our scores and put in a black file if you do not have one.

Jut thought of doing this :

Mus'Art Percussion Ensemble presents "Percussive Sounds- Concept 1.0"

Featuring special guests: Mr Low Chee Meng (Saxaphonist frm Thailand)
Ms Wannapha Yannuvut (Percussionist frm Thailand)
Mr Tama Goh (which I assume everyone knows)

The songs we're playing are : "Bangala" by David Childs
"Concerto for Solo Percussion & Percussion Ensemble" by Gary Ziek/ Nathan Daughtrey
"Sinfornia from Salomon" by Handel
"Concerto for Percussion Ensemble" by David Gillingham
"Concerto for Saxophone & Percussion Ensemble" by Russell Peterson
"Spain" by Chick Corea/ Soren Monrad

Tickets are at $8. The date of concert is on 6 July 2008 at the NTUC Auditorium at 5 pm. Door sales of tickets starts at 4.30pm.

For this concert, Dennis will be conducting during the whole concert.

This coming friday's year 1 practice is cancelled as it is needed for the NYPPE seniors who are performing at Suntec. I'm sorry for this notice as we dont have time for practice on Saturday because of the Sinfonique practice and Alumni band. Ya, NYPPE saturday practice have been shifted to this coming friday @ 6pm.

From now on, I'm going to use this blog as a platform for information dissemination. Hope my english is not to profound (chim) for all of you. Lol. So ya, please always check on this blog to keep an update of the latest information or news.
